How do Singles Activities work?
Singles Activities are attended by a wide variety of people with varied interests, and we try to offer something for everyone. A very small example of these activities include everything from biking, hiking, skiing, and climbing, to group trips to theme parks, bowling, ballroom dancing class, paintball and much more. The focus of these events is to have fun, be comfortable, and meet people while doing things that you love. If you meet someone special, that is wonderful, but the main goal is simply to have a great time. As a result, these activities offer a low-pressure way for our members to meet other members
Why are Singles Activities a great way to meet new people?
Singles Activities allow members with similar interests to meet in a safe, low-pressure environment, while doing the things they like to do. Participating in these Activities is not just about dating; it's also about making new friends while enjoying yourself, with other single people in your own age range. Activities provide an environment where instead of reaching for something to say like in many new social situations, members can easily start talking about the Activity itself. Also, you'll be at your most comfortable, because these Activities give you the opportunity to be in a fun environment with people who share your interests.
Are these Activities only for singles?
Since many of the members that take part in these activities are looking to make new romantic connections, mostly single people attend the majority of our Activities. However, the focus of the activities is having fun, and they are not strictly singles-only. Many people that have met their significant others through these Activities want to continue to participate, so we often put together special groups for couples only, as well as groups where couples can participate in Activities with friends they have made at past Activities.
I'm sometimes shy about meeting new people. Will I be comfortable?
If you are feeling shy, just ended a previous relationship or marriage and are feeling a bit nervous, or haven't dated for awhile, these Activities are perfect for you. A professional Activity Host who specializes in making sure that everyone gets to know each other and makes sure everyone feels included runs many of our Activities. Plus, there is no pressure to 'pick up' anyone; everyone is just there to enjoy one of their favorite activities and to let things happen naturally.
Do members date other members? Do they ever get married?
All the time! Countless couples have met through these Activities. Many of them have had serious long-term relationships and many have gotten married.
What does it cost to participate in an Activity?
The cost varies according to the Activity, and there is generally a $10 to $40 charge by the service for arranging the Activity. Your Matchmaker will let you know the cost of the Activities when he or she recommends them to you or when you express interest in attending. As well as organizing our own Activities, we sometimes recommend Activities run by other companies if we think they are well suited to a members' interests and needs. Members generally receive a discount off the normal admission to these other Activities.
What is the age range of your attendees?
People of all different ages attend. We often segment events along the lines of similar age groups for people who are looking to meet someone close to them in age.
Are there special events for seniors?
Yes. Many of today's seniors are highly active and these Activities are often perfect for helping them in their quest to find companionship. For this purpose, we have a number of seniors-only Events. We are also aware of the imbalance in the male-female ratio among seniors, so we employ a special system to make sure that there are a near-equal number of men and women at the Seniors Events.
Can I attend an Activity by myself?
Of course! Many members come to the Activities by themselves. In many ways, it is even a good idea to come solo to force yourself to meet new people. Since our members are so friendly, there will generally be someone who will reach out to welcome you into the fold. And remember, there will often be a Host on hand to introduce new participants around.
What if I have an idea that I think would be a good Activity for a group that you don't offer?
We offer a very wide range of Activities depending on the area and the number of members that are interested in that Activity. If there does happen to be an group Activity that we do not offer, please let us know by emailing us at: service@ConnectionClub.com. We are always looking for any new ideas to expand our service. As long as there enough people interested in taking part in a certain Activity, we will try to make it happen.
Are children allowed at Activities?
No. Some of our members do have children, but our Activities are designed for 21+ adults to meet each other in a fun, easy environment. If you do have children, this might be your chance to get a babysitter and remember what it is like to do something entirely for yourself.
How do I get in touch with another member who catches my interest?
Members usually exchange contact information during the course of the Activity and make plans to meet again. However, if you missed an opportunity or want us to help you make a connection, you can contact your Matchmaker, who will get in touch with the person you want to contact and find out if they want to get to know you better as well. If they agree, your Matchmaker will make arrangements for you and the person you are interested in to get in contact with each other. All members' personal information is confidential and we will never give out anyone's contact information without that person's consent.
