Photos

What if I do not have a good photo?

A good photo makes your chance of success in online dating many times better. If you do not have a photo that shows you in your best light, you can have someone take a new picture of you, or you can have your picture taken quickly and inexpensively at Target, JC Penney, Sears, or Wal-Mart. If you are really looking to put your best foot forward, we offer the services of photographers that specialize in professional photographs for online dating profiles, through our online store. These professional photographers will shoot you at their studio or will come to your home – whichever you prefer. Professional hair and makeup are also available. 80% of people double their results by having a professional photo taken.


What type of photo should I get?

When having your picture taken, please keep a few things in mind. You should include both your face and body in the shot (or you may want to post both a head shot and a full body shot), and your photo should be current (we recommend no more than 3 months old). Photos should not contain anything that blocks your face and should not include other people or ex-spouses or ex-partners. Shirts for men are recommended! All photos are screened prior to posting, so it is important that your photos do not depict nudity or inappropriate activities.


Where can I get professional photos taken for my profile?

There are a number of services that we recommend where members can get professional quality photos to post online. To have your photos taken quickly and inexpensively we recommend the portrait studios at Target, JC Penney, Sears, or Wal-Mart. For more professional photos, we can refer you to the services of high-level photographers who will take pictures of you especially designed for use on online services, at a fraction of the cost that they normally charge. These professional photographers will shoot you at their studio or will come to your home – whichever you prefer. Professional hair and makeup are also available.


Do the professional photo services offer digital photos?

It depends on the service you choose. If you have your photos taken at Target, JC Penney, or Sears, you can get digital versions of the photos. K-Mart does not offer digital versions, so if you use them, you will have to scan the negatives or prints into your computer. The professional photographers that we recommend that shoot photos specifically for online dating profiles will provide you with photos in a digital format. If your photos are not digital, you can scan your photos into your computer or send the photos by regular mail to us, and we will upload them for you. Be sure to include your first name, last name, home phone number and area code, and your member name.


How do I upload my photos onto my computer?

To upload your photos, simply log into your account at Connection Club, click the My Account button at the top, and then click Manage Photos on the left. From here you can upload photos, add and/or delete photos and change the one shown as your primary photo. If your photos are not digital, you can scan your photos into your computer or send us photos of yourself by regular mail and we will upload them for you. Be sure to include your first name, last name, home phone number with area code, and your member name.


Can my photos be kept private?

Yes. Many members prefer not to have their photos or information posted online. This may be because of their position in the community, or any number of other reasons. To keep your information private, simply make that selection on the enrollment form. Nevertheless, your Matchmaker will need to see a photo that accurately shows who you are, before they can recommend you to another member.


What are the prices of the different professional photo services available?

Below are some of the prices of photo sessions offered by the various chain stores:

-Target charges $4.99 to provide digital versions of the photos you have taken.

-JC Penney has a sitting fee of $13.99, which includes your photo session, with digital versions of the photos.

-Sears charges $29.99 for a photo session, along with digital photos.

For photos that will show you at your finest, we recommend high-level professional photographers who will take pictures of you specially designed for use on online services, at a fraction of the cost that they normally charge. Some of the photographers that make available special prices for our members have had their work featured in Vanity Fair, GQ, Rolling Stone, Newsweek, New York Times, and have done photo sessions for models and rock stars. These photographers have all agreed to reduce their normal rates for Connection Club members. Instead of charging their normal fee of around $400 for a 45-minute shoot, all our photographers charge just $129. That works out to just $10.75 per picture. These professional photographers will shoot you at their studio or will come to your home for an extra $15 – whichever you prefer. Professional hair and makeup are also available.



I don't like the way I currently look - is having a photo important?

How long does the session take?

The entire photo shoot only takes about 45 minutes and includes two outfit changes if you wish. You pick the time and the place. Most of our members say that they find the experience a lot of fun!


What do I get for my money?

When you schedule an appointment with a photographer, you'll get a professional 45-minute photo shoot, 12 different 'web-ready' photographs perfect for your dating site profile, as well as professional advice about the way you need to look online.


Who will take my pictures?

What happens if I don't like my photos?

Your satisfaction is guaranteed. If you are unhappy with the photo, a re-shoot will be rescheduled or your money will be refunded.


Will my photos be re-touched or digitally enhanced?

Your photos will be re-touched only if the lighting, shadows, contrast or color in your photos need to be enhanced or modified to portray you accurately. There are also photo-retouching services available to make sure that the real you is presented in the best possible light. However, you should not have your photos drastically altered to make you appear to look different than you do in 'real life'. For example, using 'photo tricks' to shave off pounds, add hair where there is none, make yourself look considerably younger than you are, or change your facial features will actually hurt your chances of achieving success with online dating because you will set a different level of expectations than the reality. When you finally meet a match in person, they will feel misled when you look different than your photo and the chances of a second date will be slim to none. Furthermore, we require that all our members adhere to a Code of Ethics. For this reason, if we find that a member has drastically misrepresented themselves in their photos with the purpose of deceiving potential matches as to their true appearance, they will be removed from the service without a refund.


Do I have to pay for this digital enhancement if it is required?

Reasonable digital enhancement is typically done at no additional charge.


Can I get black and white photos?

Yes. Black & White and Color photos are both available.


Who keeps the rights to the images?

You do. The photos are yours.

Using Dining Discounts on an arranged date is actually highly encouraged as part of our program, and the matches you meet through this service will expect this to be the method of payment and will not see their use as a sign of 'cheapness' on your part.


What if the restaurant does not honor my Dining Discount Certificate?

You don't have to worry that the restaurant won't honor your certificate. Our restaurant partners want you to be happy. After all that's the whole point, to bring in and keep new customers. So rest assured, we back up what we say. You have an unconditional guarantee. If something isn't right with your Certificate, just contact us at service@ConnectionClub.com and we'll take care of it right away. We want you to come back over and over again.

How are my tickets shipped?

All tickets are shipped via an express courier service and all deliveries require a signature. No reroutes on the package. The courier must deliver it to the address on the package. They cannot deliver it to any other address. If you have any specific delivery requirements please make those arrangements when you place your order. Tickets are normally sent to your credit card billing address.

The billing address will be verified with your credit card company so you must use the exact address where your statements are sent. Should you require that the order be shipped to an alternate address, you must give faxed authorization. The faxed authorization will include a signed copy of the Card Holder Verification Form along with legible copies of your driver's license and the credit card used during the purchase. If possible, you will be informed of the courier and when to expect delivery when your order is confirmed.

Do I have to pay sales tax?

Most tickets sold are not taxed. Taxes are collected as required by law.


How can I track my order?

You will be informed as to when you can expect your package when your order is confirmed. If it does not arrive when expected, please contact us at service@ConnectionClub.com. Since a signature is required on all deliveries, most packages can be traced quickly.


What is your refund/return policy?

There are no refunds, exchanges, or cancellations on any order once it is submitted. This policy is in place because when you purchase your tickets those tickets are secured for you and we are not able to recover our costs. Please order tickets only after you are certain you want them.


What if my event is cancelled?

If an event is cancelled for any reason other than an act of God (rainout, earthquake, flood, etc.), war, terrorism, strike, or lockout, a full refund for the amount that you paid for the tickets will be provided. Any shipping charges are not refundable. TICKETS MUST BE RECEIVED BACK WITHIN 14 DAYS OF THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE CANCELLATION. It is suggested that you return tickets via certified mail or using a carrier that can provide you with proof of delivery. In case of a rainout or strike for a sporting event, no refunds will be made. You must exchange the tickets at the ballpark for a seat to a future game that is still available. In all other instances mentioned above the service will attempt in every case to obtain a refund from the original seller of the tickets; however, no refund or percentage of refund can be guaranteed.


What if my event is postponed?

If an event is postponed, the tickets will be honored for the rescheduled event date. New tickets will not need to be issued. Refunds are not offered on postponed events.


What if my tickets are lost or stolen?

When you receive your tickets, keep them in a safe place. Unfortunately, tickets cannot be replaced if they are lost, stolen, or damaged. Please note that direct sunlight or heat can damage some tickets.


Can I put tickets on hold?

The ticket-hold policy is set by each individual listing seller. Although we cannot guarantee that a particular seller will be willing to hold tickets, they will certainly be asked to hold them. If a seller can hold tickets, they typically will allow an hour or two for you to make your final decision on whether or not to purchase the tickets.


Why is there a service charge?

The service charge helps recover some of the costs associated with processing payments, securing and shipping tickets, as well as guaranteeing that every ticket on the site is authentic. The service charge is typically 10% with a $10 minimum per ticket.
